About

For over 60 years, the Megalong Valley Tearooms have served up delicious refreshments in a truly idyllic setting. Built in 1956, the Tearooms sits at the end of a lush rainforest drive, beneath the iconic escarpments of the upper Blue Mountains.

Tradition and history are important to us. We are the only remaining example of what was once a booming Devonshire tea industry in the Valley. From the 1930s on, up to 6 tearooms operated in the Megalong at one time – serving fresh local scones with homemade cream and jam to hikers, campers and sightseers.

So, you’ll find us making our apple pies to the same recipe used on the first day of trade over half a century ago. You’ll also find locals and visitors alike enjoying their own long kept holiday traditions – sharing those scones and tea in the garden as they have been doing for decades.

Innovation and good food are also at the heart of what what we do. We want to keep our menu fresh and our customers interested and coming back for years to come. So we also update our menu regularly, and have recently become fully licensed – so you can enjoy a refreshing glass of local beer, wine, sparkling or cider if the fancy takes you.

Grab a seat under the trees and watch local wildlife while you enjoy all day breakfast or lunch. Or, cosy up by the fire with a hot cup of tea and a slice of apple pie when it’s cold outside.
